| 30 Nov 2006 | Alyssa Morganna | I always thought it was my brothers eating the raw cookie dough, but now I know... This is fantastic. The bag of flour and the pastry look soooo realistic. This i one of the best pics I have seen up here, I must say it again... fantastic! Donna Quinn replies: "Perhaps your brothers are in league with the gremlins. Thanks for the comment Alyssa!" | |
| 19 Jan 2007 | Barbara J. Wickham | Oh-oh, there's nothing like getting busted by mom! It just goes to show that little'uns of every kind have a knack for finding fun and trouble in the same activity. Beautifully painted! The utilitarian objects have a great substance and texture that makes it easy to almost feel the springy dough and smell the flour. I will never tire of clever scenes like this where everyday scenarios are shifted one step out of reality. I like to believe that I can live in a world where wonderful critters like these live and breath and artwork like yours helps me keep believing. Donna Quinn replies: "Thankyou Barbara- I am very flattered and of course it's nice to hear that you like the everyday objects with tweaking. I feel the same way. It's fun to wander around the house hunting stuff out to paint!" | |
| 4 Jun 2007 | Anne-Marie S. Lemieux | This has a very down-to-earth, naturalistic feel about it - until you get to the critters, of course, which is exactly how it should be! Magic in the everyday. This picture reminds me of The Tale of Samuel Whiskers/The Rolly Polly Pudding by Beatrix Potter where two rats steal dough to cook a kitten in. Donna Quinn replies: "Thankyou Anne-Marie for the lovely comment! What an odd story... I liked hearing about some rats getting one up on a cat!" | |
| 19 Jul 2007 | Katrina Williams | I like the cute little gremlins! What is there mom saying? | |
| 20 Aug 2007 | Floriane Mohr | i like your work. It is real made with a great quality Donna Quinn replies: "Thankyou very much for the kind comment Floriane!" | |
| 14 Oct 2007 | Wendy Bittnerová | I never cease to be amazed at your creativity and skill. Smiles - Wendy Donna Quinn replies: "Eep! Thanks Wendy! (...embarrassment...) " | |
| 9 Feb 2008 | Malin Persson | I love this one, it’s very cute and different. It’s cool to see little fantasy creatures among everyday things! In some way this one makes baking more fun, because I will think of those litte grembling-things next time I take out my bag of flour... Awesome detail, like in everyone else of your pictures! | |
| 9 Feb 2008 | Stephanie L. Barker | so very creative.. can i have one as a pet Donna Quinn replies: "If you can house the little beggars, you’re more than welcome to take them off my hands! Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for the comment Stephanie." | |
| 7 Aug 2008 | Sarah Charles | Eeeeevil... I love them! Donna Quinn replies: "Yes... evil to the core!" | |
| 4 Nov 2008 | Désirée Ruth Dippenaar | Sweet! I love the idea, and the way these unusual creatures are brought into the very normal household surroundings of the kitchen and cooking. Great picture! Donna Quinn replies: "Thanks a bunch Désirée! I’ve more pics of these critters planned." | |
